Paypal fees: Too high, or not that bad?

I'd agree I think they are pretty much on par, most of the credit card merchants charge at close to the same rates, and it's a lot easier to get a paypal account than a merchant account.

It's not the fees I'm having a problem with, it's their support that I'm scared of. If for some reason you fall out of their mercy they can take all your money without noticing you and shut you down so fast that your head will spin from rage!

I wouldnt mind their fees so much if their service was better but there isnt much of an alternative so I use them anyway.

Of course I wish PayPal didnt have fees. Personally, with my web design and developments if I say, "Covering PayPal fees." Clients do not have an issue with this.

Paypal is not expensive. I believe there is something much more important then just a fee for the transaction, FRAUD system is the most important thing. Because you can pay 3%-4% fees, but have 5-10 chargebacks +the fee for the chargeback (25-45$). So you will pay much more.......

Paypal is a great service, I think Paypal is great compared to 2co. If you think Paypal fee is high, take a look at 2co (over 5%)

Yeah, I don't see why so many people have a problem with paypal. Paypal is an amazing payment gateway and I just love it to death! :D

I think that fees are really higher and now in the personal accs they had made some changes and the fees are more higher now.

This is the cost of doing business. If you want to offer credit card processing, you're going to have related expenses. For new entrepreneurs, PayPal is a viable solution.

Of course I wish the fees were lower, but there are a lot of costs associated with doing business online and this is one of them. On top of the actual service they provide, I honestly believe that every website with Paypal buttons is partially borrowing Paypal's credibility and reputation. Customers trust it. If asked whether I thought I would lose customers if I used an obscure merchant service instead, I'd say yes, absolutely.

PayPal is definitely a great payment gateway for anyone doing business online. It's trusted, secure, and easy. Is PayPal a bank? This answer could vary, but no it's not. Although it's pretty darn close to being once considering how easy they have made it for you to earn a return on your money as well as access your money at ATMs, stores, etc. This is a cost of doing business and many people neglect to realize this. I lose hundreds, if not thousands in PayPal fees. Does it irritate me? Let's just say I wish I didn't have to absorb these fees, but it's business bros (and sis')!

I hate the fees as well, especially when we have promotions going and the prices are even lower but paypal still eats a nice chunk.

Well, many of the users of Paypal think that the fee is quite high. No doubt, I also feel the same. However, on the other hand, I also think if you have to spend a little more to get good quality service which reduces the efforts required and saves time, you shouldn't mind it :)

I agree. Actually there is no any good alternative to PayPal and you don't stop people those who want to pay via paypal so you should not worry paying little higher fees.
