I would recomend the WHMCS livechat. If you are looking for something completely free I have found "Comm100 livechat" to be a very nice chat/and monitor software.

Keep an eye on your resources with Kayako when serving more than 6-7 customers at once. A company that I worked with previous to GridVirt found large slikes in CPU and Ram when they had that number of customers. Anybody else see this isssue with it?

As far as i know, by default it goes to "be right back" status when you have more than 5 clients at the same time (can manually switch it back to online)
Did use it with more than 10 at once, and did not notice any issues serverside.

As a start you can use zopim.com, its easy to use and it free, for the free version what you can do is 2 chats concurrently, I mean thats still good.

plus the factor I want is you can tie it with your Yahoo or Live Messenger so if someone messages to it, it can go to your IM.

I used to use live zilla but there over priced now also ive found a better live help provider as mentioned above Stardevelop.com offer a great service also there owned licence's are reasonably priced.

Try liveperson.com or zopim.com. Both of them provide good live chat software. But liveperson is more convenient and have more options.

with Liveperson they dont give any prices on their site, you request a callback and they will contact you and discuss your needs etc. and give a price this way.
