Live Chat Software

Has anyone tried Freshdesk...? Came across it today...

I have heard of them & have tried them.

They are a great help desk alternative to ZenDesk & Kayako though there are a couple limitations / cons:

1. No live chat. Though 3rd party modules can provide a *very* basic integration (Pipe chat transcripts to tickets at best).

2. It only offers a hosted solution, so you can't host it on your own servers (though you can set a custom domain from your-helpdesk.freshdesk.com to yourdomain.com).

I love some of their features such as the arcade system to make support more friendly, though I didn't use them because of the SaaS model (I personally prefer to host my own things so I have absolute control over things).

Looks like they are freemium (Free for one agent, pay for anything more).

Edit: Looking at the website in your signature, is that a chat interface design provided by MyLiveChat.com as it is an obvious attempt to copy Zopim.

Yes you are right about that, but you can choose many templates from it, it looks like zopium, because i choose like that design. well anyway it works well and if you want to pay it can be for more clients, which i m doing that.

Seems like they are following HostBill's bad practice

Bad practice? They've changed their prices once (Correct me if I'm wrong?).

They offered a very quality live chat product for free for years, to keep things "running" money has to come from somewhere and that hefty price tag sure is for businesses though, not your average reseller host.

zopim works well, if you dont mind using a hosted service. Livezilla was always good too.

Nowadays we find many people using twitter or skype to contact us.

Livezilla still does the job for me. The free version has been good enough for live support.

It gives us enough information about the potential clients, and well...we can interact with them just fine. So it serves our purpose completely.

I don't really think anyone requires too much of the advanced features. I barely feel the need of it.

We have tried several different live chat programs;

Zopim - GOOD!
WHMCS Chat - Not Good
PHPLivesupport - A+ <-- what we will use forever.

I have to agree though, from when I used LiveZilla (Free) it really is (or was) a great built software. I wonder how its keeping up today.

I think with the kind of pricing that they have set, they are trying to directly compete with Kayako and other such highly expensive softwares. So small and medium web hosts can't really afford it at the moment.

Whatever websites I see Livezilla on are still sticking to the old, free versions. I can't recall seeing any site using the new version...
