Do you pay monthly or yearly for your hosting..?

My first time hosting was my first mistake by paying for the year, lol! A few days later found out that their hosting sucks and didn’t know better. I stuck around with them for like 7 months.

Nowadays I only paid for monthly payment thru Paypal. If their host sucks again, then I can just quit and move-on to the next.

Very good point! I always suggest paying month to month until you can be certain (and even then it is hard) that you want to commit for a year. Remember this host is holding your website, possibly your business, so they need to be trustworthy and reliable. Do research and dont rush into everything just to get your site going because it is the "lowest price and best service!" I know a lot of 14 year olds running web hosting companies off of a cheap-o reseller account offering 24/7 support and the "best servers and service." Seems difficult enough for adults to do it who have the capital to back up their company, but it has to be impossible for a kid to do it. Unfortunately a lot of our clients found that out the hard way before switching to us.

That is quiet well said. It is always preferable to pay monthly if you are new to the server. If you find everything fine and you can trust or get a good feedback on the hosting company, Then you may go for annually. Going annually will help you get more discounts and make your hosting more cheap.

For me, it depends if we can get a reasonable discount paying the annual registration, but if you're in a budget then you may get only the number of months you can afford.

Do you prefer paying monthly or yearly?
i prefer paying monthly, because I might need more space/bandwidth after some months.

My recommendation would be yearly, if you want additional bandwidth or space you can ask them to make necessary changes to your account and give you that.

Yes i prefer sometimes monthly payment because it will be easy and small amount per month. In case of yearly it will be accumulate and healthy amount.

The answer simply depends on your budget and hosting company.....If you are comfortable with you hosting company you can commit to them by paying annualy......However if you want to just try out their service, and are not sure about the hosting company reliability -- you would pay monthly

At first I would recommend to pay for 1 or even 2 month to make sure your provider works good and without any issues, as soon as you will be sure this is a trustful company - change to annually billing cicle as it will save you money

you can upgrade your plan in most of web hosts but paying monthly is better, because you can cancel or transfer your service if not satisfied.

I usually pay quarterly if the option is available. I really hate having to worry about monthly payments, but yearly is simply too far for me to commit =)

Paying monthly seems to be a sensible choice if your trying a new host but as mentioned above in can become a chore paying each month. Personally, I think opting for quarterly payments is not to great a risk and is often at a discounted price. An annual payment in advance is always a leap of faith however much you trust your host IMO.

I would like to try first monthly for few months and if feeling good then trying to upgrade it bigger plan .. for save money.

Depends, a $3 vps for something like DNS or mail, then it is yearly.

Anything important = Monthly, I do not wan't to tie into something if it goes wrong.

We have customers who pay monthly or yearly. It depends on your budget. We offer 1 month free of yearly plans and 3 months free of 2 year plans.

Generally if you go with a good host, paying long term will be safe and save you money.
