difference between free and paid hosting?

1. What is difference between free and paid hosting?

Whenever I try to find a host for one of my websites, I always have to look up free hosts just for the heck of it. Yes, there are usually limits as to how much space there should be, and a lot of the free hosts will require you to put up advertisements or links back to their site, but sometimes it's well worth it.

Most of my sites don't require all that much space to begin with, so I like to experiment with different free hosts to see if any of them work. I've never heard of host1free before, but I had very positive experiences using awardspace.com.

2. Are those companies known well and are they reliable?

I'm afraid I don't know either company, but if I were you, I'd see if they were able to be located on one of the web hosting review sites. I always choose the ones with the highest overall rating.

Generally it's like night and day between paying for web hosting and getting free web hosting. It's such a vague question though, do you have any other particular questions though??

Support "should" be better when your paying for it. Sometimes that isn't the case though..

If you are a serious person who wants to start a hosting business for sure you will choose to go and get a paid hosting to secure your site and your customers. It also enhance your credibility knowing that you are financially stable to support your business and not going to vanish after a couple of months. If you really want to succeed you will need to invest time, effort and even money to your business just for it to grow.

This is a long thread! ^_^ Let me summarize the points the best I can:
1. If your website collects and stores information, go for paid hosting.
2. If your website projects a brand name, go for paid hosting.
3. If your website does neither, free hosting may do.

That may be too simplistic. But I won't say free hosting is totally valueless. Free hosting are good for blogging, making informal online surveys, featuring an upcoming event, etc.

you always get what you pay for, free hosting provider may not be held to account is they shut down

Paid hosts are rarely held accountable.
No difference really.

Look at some of the lies that paid hosts tell.
Unlimited resources etc. How could anyone trust them over a free web host?

hi
I think free hosting you will get limited features and services or support and paid hosting you get best hosting packages and support is well provides.

If you are going to set up your website and are on the lookout for finding and using only solid and strong hosting packs, try forgetting about free stuff and instead turn to shared or dedicated accounts as they are valuable always.

Free based hosting packs are accompanies by numerous limitations and they are not recommended to be used for setting up serious types of businesses.

Biggest drawback of free hosting is that it is not a reliable source at all. You build a good web site, upload it and then server goes down. There will no place that you can trace the issue and get support. Result will be the time loss.

Whereas paid hosting comes with support where you can contact any time through many means and solve issues with their assistance.

Free web hosting means living in a friend's house without paying any rent that is looking fine for sometime, but when you start using appliances and facilities than usual, then definitely your friend will kick you out without any doubt. It is similar case with free hosting. There is no guarantee for your website or blog. Hence, use it on your own risk :smash:

free Hosting will Not gives you much features and will disturb your website after some time when your website becomes popular by adding their own add on your site they will not gives you 24/7 live support or something like that whenever paid hosting gives you 24/7/365 live chat, ticket, email support and they are bound to help you within every issue related to your hosting and free hosting are totally negative of paid hosting.

It totally depends on your requirements. If you are just testing things out I would suggest getting started with a free hosting and more your way from there.

But if you plan on running any dynamic scripts make sure you ask your free hoster if they will support it or not.

The shared hosting plans are so cheap today, is it a big deal to get a shared hosting for $1 instead of assisting someone in their marketing strategies?

There is a huge difference between them which can not be filled in any case.

Free is not at all reliable, you do not get customer support for your issues and also providers banners will remain on your web site in any case, so you do not get full freedom in developing your business web site.

Free hosting is a service that offers limited features and the support isnt the best. I would suggest that you go with paid web hosting.. there are better features and services.

I always prefer paid hosting because it is reliable as compared to free hosting. With paid you can't face any issue while free is terrible.

1. What is difference between free and paid hosting?

free hosting is like a trial just for test 30 days and 45 days use only not your own
but paid hosting is not like that................... pay for one year and use with all features and offers like unlimited e-mail , unlimited FTP etc..........................

enjoy :)
