difference between free and paid hosting?

Paid hosting is better than free hosting.

There are, not much, but there are exceptions to this rule IE: if you know your host, and/or have multiple free host. Paid hosting is reliable, but so can be sponsored.

Rule:
Free = bad
Paid= good

But there is a middle: Sponsored Web Hosting.

Free hosting always displays ads on your site,while with paid hoting you have total controll over it. If you need cheap and reliable hosting, check ot this site, they have unlimited data traffic: <URL snipped>

Rather go with an honest free host than a liar who offers something that doesn't exist like unlimited data traffic.

looks like self advertising as that link does not show any unlimited dats plans.

also not all free hosting displays ads on your site.

All plans are "unlimited data" if you check further down the page. Still it is most likely self promotion.

Its a pity GeoCities didn't last the distance. That was by far the best free hosting platform out there - at least in the early years.

eventually all free hosting providers ends up the same way as free hosting may help some people get a start on the internet, but free hosting platforms are not a viable business model even with adverts on websites.

in my 11yrs within this industry i've seen many free providers vanish and i dare say more will follow especially now that Google is starting to unindex free providers along with so called free domains such as .cc

Well, it's pretty obvious, free you don't pay but you can trust. JustHost I have heard good things about and they have been around awhile so I would go with JustHost!

You can't get nice support and data backup automaticlly as paid hosting. This is real story. :)

data backup is your responsibilty and not that of your host, so paid or FREE hosting this will not be done automatically. If you want your host to do this then this is a paid addon

Pretty broad statement. Plenty of hosts offer free backup.

read any hosts TOS and they will all have

"data backup is your responsibilty and not that of your host" most hoist that use cpanel will say you get free backups but this is through cpanel which you yourself have to carry out.

i have been in this industry since 1999 and this is the only free backups i was every given

now i run my own servers and carry out daily backups to an external server, which clients pay a small monthly fee so they can request a copy at anytime as backup up files/sites cost money

i will give you advice to go with paid hosting were you get many feature as compared with free hosting and if you are thinking to go with paid hosting with justhost.com than you have to check reviews there you get good services which they provide to their customer

is that so

http://www.webhostingstuff.com/review/JustHost.html 90% reviews poor

http://www.webhostingreviews.com/just-host-reviews.htm 100% reviews call them scammers

http://webhostinggeeks.com/user-reviews/justhost/ 90% poor

do i need to go on and also a hidden whois record raised alarm bells http://whois.domaintools.com/justhost.com

Free hosting aren't reliable and usally inforcing ads and stoping some features like send emails... etc
You can start by some affordable hosting, you can find some from $1 per month.

In the free website hosting, the customers or user has the permit to upload his or her contents of the web site on the server space that has been provided by the web hosting company for no cost.

In Paid hosting, you need to pay a periodic fees, say monthly or yearly to upload your website and its contents on the web space provided by a paid website

this is a useless reply as all you are saying is that you as a customer need to upload you own website content. which anyone will know already.

with paid hosting you may get some help from the host, which with free hosting the host will offer no help unless you pay for his help.
