Payment options for customers

Did you all find sales increased with adding different payment options?

Currently we only accept paypal but are looking into other merchant providers.

Defiantly add more options. Your adding to many eggs in one basket, you need to spread your risk.

If PayPal tomorrow decides to limit your account that is 100% of your clients now unable to pay you (Or you withdraw your funds for 6 months), if you are unable to resolve the issues (caused by several chargebacks etc...) then your out of business, your employees etc...

Having multiple options spreads your risk so if you loose one, you still have money coming in without issues.

Of course it is a huge benefit to clients also, as *many* are unable to use PayPal (or just prefer not to use it).

Where are you located? I'll see what good options are available to you. Generally speaking, Stripe & Skrill would be good additions.

We're based in the states, Maryland to be specific. I've been hearing very great things about Stripe recently and appreciate the input/insight... never thought about it that way.

In my first days in the hosting business years ago that exact situation happened to me! A paypal account was frozen and it caused me some headaches for a week or two thats for sure.

Glad that helped :)

Just remember they can pull the plug on you, anytime, any day and they don't have to re-open your account if they don't want to.

Stripe are really awesome people. You should be satisfied with them, also will make you "look bigger" and more "like a business" as with Stripe customers enter their credit card details on your website (and don't actually go to anything Stripe.com). Use the module by ServerPing.net

I don't know, i don't like entering my credit card number on some uknown site. If there is no paypal option i wouldn't order.

Paypal is the best choice and widely accepted, to increase fraud prevention you can use FraudRecord and MaxMind.

Gonna be getting setup with Stripe soon - May have some questions during the process if I do I'll reach out to you :) Thanks for your help

I like PayPal, but I'd also like to check out Stripe. Their developer-friendly API is really intriguing (even though I'm not a coder)

What billing system do you use? By now modules exist for most major billing systems be it 3rd party or official (Blesta, WHMCS, HostBill and I believe ClientExec).
