Linux or windows?

I think it's better to ask what kind of control panel prefer.
Anyway, linux is easiler to manage and it's more efficient.

Both are actually great operating systems. I think that would just depend on the person using it. Some feel more comfortable with Linux, and some are more comfortable with Windows.

Both Windows and Linux come in many flavors, in terms of reliability, Linux variants and versions are notoriously reliable and can often run for years without needing to be rebooted while windows still cannot match the reliability of Linux.

Most people tend to say that linux is safer, linux is better, etc etc. Its easy to find a good Linux Server Administrator out in the market.
But is hard to find a good Windows Server Admin.

A well managed windows server is as good or even better than a linux server from my point of view.

Having both, Linux and Windows is good for any hosting company if you have the resources to manage it. Having a windows server with a poor managment will bring many headaches to you and your clients.

If you are using php and mysql then definitely Linux. If its Asp.net then it would be fine with Windows.

Linux/Unix controlling a majority of the Hosting Market, however some clients need Windows to run their apps. It's up to you, I personally prefer Linux.

Linux is great, and is more commonly used. Windows isn't as much used in more of today's hosting.

Some special requirements like ASP.net is where you'll need WIndows.

this is like who like blonds or brunettes or maybe a red head (FreeBSB) :) -- we sell both windows and linux, offer resellers both and a majority of resellers have 98% linux --

I would suggest to sell both Linux aswell as Windows, Sofar as Linux is in most demand although there is a market for the windows.

I prefer Linux. However, I could say it doesn't hurt to have Windows as an option. With Windows you can host accounts that take more resources and customers also like more when there are more options available.
