Do you pay monthly or yearly for your hosting..?

It's better to pay yearly to be aware of not renewing your services or forgetting it thus your website will be suspended and for upgrades you can do upgrades anytime and pay the difference.

Never pay yearly if you are just starting with a service.

1. Make sure they have been in business for at least 2 years.
2. Try the service for at least 4-5 months before committing to yearly payments.

Paying yearly will definitely give you more discounts and you don't need to worry for any monthly bills. But if you are in a term for this kind of set up. If you want to get out of the service or don't want to continue. Nothing you can refund as you already paid it unlike for monthly you can stop it during a period of time that you like and without paying any extra.

If the service is less than $20 a month then yearly would be easier. Even if you need an upgrade im sure they will just adjust your account accordingly, at least we do it that way.

You can always test out the stability of the host within the money-back guarantee period (usually at least 30days). I would go for the 1 year plan since it's usually 15% cheaper.

depends on the service and the host. Anything low-end like shared and VPS you almost always pay annual because charges are low. Max $20/month. So it's just a few hundred for the year. Nobody will waste time trying to collect that amount of money.

Larger accounts like dedicated you can get month to month or shorter term contracts. Some will promote others you have to ask.

Do you prefer paying monthly or yearly?
i prefer paying monthly, because I might need more space/bandwidth after some months.

I think that everybody pays according to his/her budget and depending on the sum of money which should be paid.

Sometimes it is better to pay out your hosting plan for a longer period as in this case the monthly price is decreased for you.

The price issue isn't as simple, as it seems to be. Usually, the company's homepage features the best monthly price, but in reality, it can be valid only if paying for a long period of time and on first payment. Thus, you'll have to pay a large sum in order to get this price.

Let see a Total Cost (Monthly Price vs Payment Period) ratio of 10 hosting companies in order to determine whether it is more profitable to pay a large sum of money at once or not.

You should add a couple of columns: Monthly Price & Total Sum at Monthly Price (for best Payment Period)

The vast majority of our clients pay yearly - I think that having a 30 day money back guarantee gives clients the incentive to do this, as they know that even if they pay for a year they always have the option of canceling after a month.

It is recommendable that you subscribe to a monthly plan for the first 3-6 months then if you are happy with the service then you can start subscribing for the yearly (or even 5 year) contract so you can avail of discount.
