Hi, Im Greg im taking a big poll on the web about what People use more FTP or File Manager in cPanel..

I want to know what people like most and think its easy to use.

I like to use File Manager but would like to start using FTP any heads up or anything? Should I stay with File Manager?

I never use cPanel; I always use FTP. Try using FileZilla.

Also take a look at DropBox, it's a free program that syncs a folder across computers.

I never used FileZilla I don't think it works for a Mac I once used ChuberDuck for FTP on my Mac.

You can use Filezilla on a Mac, thou I prefer Fetch.

As to the question, FTP almost always, though File manager has the advantage of being able to unzip.

Does anyone else have an irritation with Filezilla dropping a connection and then taking a while to reconnect?

File Manager in cPanel is circumlocutory; FTP is more smoothly and faster.
Why everyone use FileZilla is a mystery; this is not hte best.

Im going to be downloading almost ever FTP app I can get for Mac and be testing them to see witch one I like and works better can everyone please tell me some FTP programs that are good on Macs so i test them.

If the file is very large I choose FTP to upload. You can try FileZilla.and the file manager is a tool in cPanel, you can also use it to do some operations, such changing file attributes, compressing files, extracting files and so on.

I would recommend Filezilla. Very convenient and agile. Although, you can also use File manager in cPanel as it is also a good option incase you do not like Filezilla ;)

Theres 3 I can name

Filezilla
Cyberduck
Fetch

The best, though not free is Fetch, very cute and allows, ftp between two remote sites.

FileZilla ftw, been using it for years now and quick and simple - two great reasons I use most things. I do not have time to fight with things to make them work - they just need to work the first time.
