Server monitoring

We use:

1) opsview for diagnostic monitoring
2) StatusCake for website availability stats.

Quite happy with both

Currently I am using customized solutions. In the past, I've used IBM Tivoli, OP5, Nagios. If you are looking for something cost friendly, look into Nagios, Zabbix or Cactii.

There are plenty of tools to monitor server availability and system resources like cpu, memory and disk usage, network status and so on. You could install and use Nagios, Zabbix, Cacti, Monit etc. on your server and then you will be able to monitor and track the status of your server and its services using a web interface.

We use ops-ware to measure the load and throughput on our servers and it texts & emails the engineer(s) on call/shift if there is a problem.

To measure website speeds, we use StatusCake, as their API allows us to create/destroy monitoring as users or resellers create/destory domains.

We use Opsview, its a very effective tool for monitoring servers and services, notifying you of loads, network loss, server status and so on, definitely a tool to look into.

Hope this helps

Hello,

The Best method is to configure Nagios or Zabbix in a test server and add all your servers for monitoring. Live Support person in 24 hours for monitoring will ensure 100% uptime for a high traffic server
