Managed.com puts one name over HostPapa’s thirteen years of acquisitions

A new group name now sits above one of the busiest buyers in small-business hosting. Managed.com launched on September 17 as the umbrella for HostPapa, ColoCrossing, Hostopia, CloudBlue and LogoMaker. Founder and chief executive Jamie Opalchuk said customers and partners will see no change, since the brands and commitments stay the same.

That claim holds, but it is the smallest part of the story. HostPapa keeps its name, and no customer has to act. What the label does is gather more than a decade of deal-making under one roof. The group says it employs 750 or more people in 40 countries, has bought over 20 businesses since 2013, and owns ten or more data centers.

Read the list of brands and a chain appears rather than a loose portfolio. LogoMaker serves people who have not started yet. HostPapa sells websites, domains and email to small firms. ColoCrossing runs the physical infrastructure. Hostopia supplies white-label services to telcos and agencies, and CloudBlue adds billing and provisioning for resellers. In principle, the group can meet a business at several points along that path.

Most of that breadth was bought. ColoCrossing and the logo business came through the 2023 purchase of Deluxe’s hosting and logo operations, and April brought Tailor Made Servers and Hostwinds. The biggest recent move came on August 25, 2025, when HostPapa closed its CloudBlue purchase from Ingram Micro and folded it into the Hostopia channel business. That deal helps explain a group name with no mention of hosting.

The financing tells its own story. On June 3, 2025, HostPapa closed a USD 130 million credit facility led by Bank of Montreal, and the CloudBlue agreement followed a day later. The facility includes an uncommitted accordion option, so the group can ask the same lenders for more, subject to their approval.

The new site also speaks to a second audience, business owners weighing offers. It says most acquirers buy to resell, while Managed.com buys to operate and improve. Those are positioning claims, and a website cannot prove how well the group runs its brands compared with rival buyers.

What the launch does settle is direction. The group has kept buying since the financing closed, and the name above it no longer points to hosting.
