HostPapa brings CloudBlue under Hostopia brand in push for scalable cloud commerce

HostPapa has finalized the acquisition of CloudBlue from Ingram Micro and is now integrating the platform into its Hostopia channel partner division. The deal reflects a broader shift in how providers are positioning themselves to meet demand for subscription-driven cloud services at scale.

With the integration, CloudBlue’s automation and marketplace technology will now sit alongside Hostopia’s service delivery capabilities. The combined platform, which already supports more than 450 integrations, aims to streamline everything from provisioning and subscription billing to partner orchestration across multiple tiers. For telcos, resellers, ISVs, and hyperscalers, that reach could prove significant as cloud distribution models continue to mature.

Leadership changes are also part of the transition. Jorge Carvalho, who also serves as President of HostPapa, will take on the role of CloudBlue’s CEO. He brings more than two decades of cloud services experience, while Tarik Faouzi re-joins the company as General Manager after his earlier departure in 2022. Both leaders are set to take an active role in integrating CloudBlue’s technology stack with HostPapa’s strategic roadmap.

Jamie Opalchuk, HostPapa’s Founder and CEO, positioned the acquisition as a targeted move to enhance the flexibility of their cloud enablement platform—especially as the industry shifts toward subscription-based models and AI-driven service delivery. CloudBlue’s established strengths in billing automation and partner marketplace infrastructure, he pointed out, supply a solid technical foundation for these ambitions.

Carvalho backed this approach, pointing out that the acquisition should speed up product development timelines, streamline subscription management, and strengthen HostPapa’s push for wider global presence. By combining resources, he said, the joint effort will allow HostPapa and CloudBlue to support technology providers who are looking for faster go-to-market options and more advanced pricing structures.

The move underscores a growing trend across the industry: providers are not just competing on infrastructure but also on how effectively they enable partners and customers to monetize services. As subscription billing, automation, and marketplace management become critical to the cloud economy, the HostPapa–CloudBlue combination signals how vendors are recalibrating for the next wave of demand.
