DreamHost has added a set of features to Remixer, its AI website and app builder, that give customers more than one way to get a project off the ground. Users can now browse a gallery of complete site designs, preview one and use it as the base for a new build. The blank prompt still works for people who would rather describe what they want in their own words.
The change reflects a question many AI builders now face: does every project need to begin with a typed instruction? For some users, seeing a finished layout first is easier than imagining one. Others already know exactly what they want and prefer to say so. Remixer now covers both habits.
Once a project is underway, customers can keep using the conversational editing tools to change the design, rewrite copy, add pages or introduce new functions. A Visual Editor now sits beside that chat. Users can adjust elements directly on the page and save the more involved requests for Remixer to handle.
Language support widens too. Customers can start a conversation in the language they want the finished site to use, and Remixer builds the site or web app in that language. That removes an obstacle for small businesses and developers who work outside English-speaking markets.
Ralph Castro, senior vice president of product at DreamHost, said people work in different ways and the tool should bend to fit them. He described a setup where users can describe a goal to Remixer, or begin with a design and make changes themselves. In his view, AI should help when needed without becoming the only route to a finished site.
That stance matters as website builders compete on speed. Many platforms promise a live site in minutes, yet fewer let users step in and edit by hand once the AI has done its part. Mixing prompts, templates and manual controls gives newcomers a softer landing and experienced users more say.
The new features come with Remixer plans and the 30-day free trial. The Build plan starts at $9.99 per month, and trying it requires no credit card.
