VPS or Reseller?

I know there is alternatives but the good ones are all paid licenses, if you use a free alternatives there is security risks. What I meant is that it's very costly to have your own server and the best is to start as a reseller.
i suggest yopu do research before making flase statements as look at the ones S4 listed and all the ones i listed and you will find out most have paid licences, with some offering basic free licences. Because it is free does not mean its a security risk, some give free licences as they get paid through sponsors and advertising.

with my last hosting business i had 1 server which i gave free hosting to charities and community groups, but these all got the exact same security/support and features as all my paid clients, all the sites had to do was to display a link to my hosting site and purchase a positive SSL from me.

I'm not making false statements,

Most of your alternatives are paid licenses if you want to host more than 5 or 10 clients. The other free open sources alternatives are either full of security risks, miss several important features or do have performance issues if you host several clients and that is understandable since you cannot ask peoples who work for free to fix everything they need to fix because there is so many things to fix, you got to be paid to work full time on something.

you said this:
Imunify360 license - alternatives:- Cloudflare, Cyclr, Amazon CloudFront, KeyCDN.

But Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront, KeyCDN are CDN which is no way an alternatives to an anti-virus / anti-malware defense. Cyclr is not an alternative either.

you said this:
Softaculous License - alternatives:- Cloudron, CapRover, Installatron, Fantastico De Luxe etc.

But these apps have no way near the features of softaculous and their 419 scripts.

Now I'm done with you, I am not here for that kind of misbehavior you did start here, you have your opinion and I have mine.

These are listed athernatives, if you search alternatives, they may not have all the same features, but they are still alternatives

VPS hosting is ideal for larger sites and small companies, while shared hosting is best for personal sites and startups. VPS hosting costs more than shared hosting, but you get more control over your resource limits, as well as increased security and efficiency.

Maybe I am not understanding something, but what does shared hosting have to do with VPS vs Reseller thread? 🤔

I bought a server off eBay and tried to learn how to use it by hosting a website on it. I managed to have an intranet but never figured out what I was doing wrong to get on the Internet. That was 6 years ago and $2500 worth of books to find out what I need to know. I still feel safer as a reseller for now. I know what you mean.

You could easily get a managed server, this way you have someone to help and guide you.

If you have an issue and need the provider to help/fix, then ask them what was the issue and how they fixed this, then not this down, so if the issue happens again you know how to fix it yourself.

I started my hosting in 1999 with a reseller account and moved to a managed VPS when my clientbase grew
I then also purchased a cheap $2 unmanaged VPS and installed a free control panel (centos web panel) and played around with it, so I could learn how a server operates. if I messed up I just reinstalled the operating system and started again.

Your purpose must be established before choosing any web hosting company. Compared to reseller hosting, VPS hosting is far more difficult to manage. In my perspective, reseller hosting is the best choice for your needs because it is the most accessible and cheap web hosting service.

Hello friends,

VPS or reseller hosting, which one is the most convenient and affordable web hosting service to start a web hosting business or company.
Waiting for your response.
With reseller hosting, you can form a partnership with an existing hosting provider and pass off their services as your own. Your customers will never have any way of knowing who the actual provider is; nonetheless, you are still accountable for providing them with assistance servicing. VPS hosting is far more flexible than shared hosting because it enables you to launch any form of business and make use of the server resources in any way you see fit.

Reseller hosting is generally ideal if you wish to build your own business and mask all ties with your supplier. On the other hand, virtual servers grant you unrestricted access to the underlying hardware, so you can tailor it specifically to your requirements.

Also, Reseller hosting is ideal to build your brand, client base, and reputation with minimum effort and outlay. once you have these in place, you can then move to a VPS

Definitely start your way up with reseller hosting unless you require a custom setup for which VPS would be necessary. Reseller hosting takes the hassle out of managing your server or hiring an admin :)
Why hire an admin if the providers that provide VPS services have their own admins

Why hire an admin if the providers that provide VPS services have their own admins
That all depends if you have an unmanaged VPS or a managed VPS.
If it's unmanaged then the VPS provider could have 1000 admins, but if you want their services then you will need to hire one and pay for their services

You may choose VPS Hosting because it offers several benefits at the cheapest cost. Under this, you will get complete control of the server, advanced security to secure your data and information on the Internet, large storage, high speed and performance, and other resources. Also, you will get complete support from the hosting provider.
HAHA 'you will get complete support from the hosting provider' WRONG if you get a VPS the only way you will get this support is if you get a managed VPS. If it's unmanaged then you get no support from your provider unless you pay for it.

'you will get complete control of the server, advanced security to secure your data and information on the Internet' yes you will have complete control, but it will be basic barebones it will be up to you to source, pay, and install any advanced security software, etc.

Not 100% true, yes you can use the resources of the server to better aid your business model, but you are still bound by whatever TOS the VPS provider has in place, which can still put restrictions on resources

You should first clarify your purpose before choosing any web hosting service. The management of VPS hosting is quite difficult from that of reseller hosting.

I believe that reseller hosting is a great option because it is the most affordable and easy-to-manage web hosting service.

But VPS Server offers the best performance, speed, security, and reliability. On top of that VPS have all the major features like Dedicated Server. and it also cost less than Dedicated Server

Affordable and convenient for a start-up? I would say Reseller over VPS. But it kind of depends. It depends on the resources you need, if the plans are scalable, if the hosting company provides support to your customers, if the VPS is managed and if your clients need special requirements that a shared environment can or cannot offer.
Some customers might require different php versions/extensions - this is only an example. Is the Reseller hosting able to handle that?
There are a bunch of aspects that you should consider when choosing. While you can be a bit restricted on a shared environment, you should take into concern that a VPS can generate higher costs with licenses, security, management and so on - but your customers will probably have better performing websites and you will have more freedom to install the things you might need.
Best of luck to everyone venturing into this business :)
