Start small, get a reseller plan to allow you to build up a strong clientbase and reputation, then once you have these and making a profit, then upgrade to a VPS. Once you decide to get a VPS then decide if you wantHello friends,
VPS or reseller hosting, which one is the most convenient and affordable web hosting service to start a web hosting business or company.
Waiting for your response.
Risky if just starting out.If you have good to decent experience, get a dedicated VPS with enough infrastructure that your clients doesn't feel their website loading speed is slow. Loading speed is an important criteria for Google rankings. The important consideration is to get DDoS protected VPS, which will help you to run long in this niche.
hope you got some direction,

Risky if just starting out.
I have seen many startups go straight to a VPS and within months they close as they have all then high outlay, but have no clients or not enough to cover their costs., so it is always to start small then expand
Yes anyone if you have the capital start with a VPS and if you are brave you could start with a dedicated server, but 9/10 you will be running at a loss for several months while you build up a client base and reputation.True, I agree and that's the sad truth. But I wont take away the fact that you can also start with VPS but its hectic. Yeah if you don't have enough budget its more tough to cope up

You could do as i did when i first started. I bought a reseller account which i used to build up a clientbase, but i also bought a cheap VPS without any paid control panels etc. and played around with it so i could learn how they operate and how they work, then once i had a strong clientbase i purchased a VPS with all bells and whistlesAs many others have said here. It depends on what knowledge you have on vps server side but most things nowdays can be found on google on how to use ssh etc and a server can usually be rebuilt if you break it. Its always good to try out a vps and gain some knowledge of ssh
It also depends on what control panel you will be using and weather the company your buying your services from.
For example using a reseller plan everything is usually included. But using a vps it isn't included (unless they offer it)
A vps if your using cpanel you will have to buy the vps, then have to purchase monthly cpanel to set up and some other addons that are included in running your services. It all depends on what the service provider offers you too.
I would suggest if you want it easy go for a reseller plan usually aren't too expensive and comes with many useful things like ssls, a control panel ready to use. and no server knowledge needed. Hope it helps.
Its not a bad idea. Then at least when you were ready you could transfer your clientbase to your vps/server when your ready or your needs demand it.You could do as i did when i first started. Depends on what server you get. the one i got was very basic and would not hold cpanel unless i upgraded, but once i got enough clients and then decided to move to a VPS i got a managed VPS as being a 1 man band it can me extra hands if i needed them, but my cheap VPS never went to waste as i converted it into a backup server, so using jetbackup i backed up all clients accounts on a daily basisIts not a bad idea. To be a serious provider you need: Cpanel license Litespeed license Cloudlinux license Imunify360 license Softaculous License Jetbackup license These licenses cost a lot of money so you are better to go for reseller hosting until you have enough clients to afford these.

I know there is alternatives but the good ones are all paid licenses, if you use a free alternatives there is security risks. What I meant is that it's very costly to have your own server and the best is to start as a reseller. To help you many alternatives that serious providers do use.

You can be a 'serious provider' without using any of those products.
We use one of those licensed products, but we have the functions of all of them covered.
- There are multiple paid or open source Cpanel alternatives, i.e. Plesk, Directadmin, Cyberpanel.
- Litespeed is only the third most widely used server, and there are plenty of huge 'serious' hosts using Nginx or Apache.
- The same goes for all of the rest, there is more than one good way of doing anything.
