Would you pay more for SSD VPS

I would pay extra but then again I would only be looking at that kind of drive only if I needed it as to such if I was hosting a big database site where a lot will be read and written to the database.

Lots of customers like SSD and they genuinely do make a difference to speed but like so many others - you need to work out if you need them and what the purpose of them are.

It is indeed not only about SSDs but about connectors, controllers, SAN, pipe size, etc.
You could have a SAN full of SSDs with a single Gb connection and it would make no difference whatsoever if it's an SSD or a plain SATA 5400.

Agreed! from the hoster side, non techie client side know the word SSD as "fast"

Hi,

would you guys are willing to pay more for vps with SSD Disk ?
Hi, it depends on your needs and your priorities. If you need to have a fast time response, go for SSD. The SSD stores date on microchip and since it doesn't have any moving parts as the HDD it has a high transfer speed and a high performance.

This is very much a question of what you will use your server for.

Assuming that on your rush hours you reach an I/O bottleneck, an SSD can be a life saver!

Currently I am using SSD on my PC and I don't want to compromise with quality, speed and performance to just save only $1 - $5

I would certainly pay more for any service that gives a faster service, more reliable service and good support. So to me If I am going to pay $10 or $15 a month for a vps with similar specs just the $15 a month server uses ssd drives I would go with the $15 a month service. And those prices are with the same company in this example so you do not have to worry about the support factor. just the difference in drives.

Even though prices have dropped, you should still expect to pay a little more for SSD VPS - especially if the provider is using enterprise-grade SSDs.
