Windows Vista

I had using the Vista Home Prmium for my laptop.
Actually Vista is a great surface OS, but due to the great surface, it had use uo many resources and make your computer running slow..

For my experience, Vista minimun require at least 2GB DDR2 memory to avoid hang happen..

I think Microsoft already know this issue..
It could be solve when the new windows will announce in the market next year end.

I dont disagree that vista is a good OS,
But i think they just went overboard with some of the security in the beginning.
and like they always do they released it too soon IMHO,
but like you said MS aparently are working on a new OS.
But i guess all we can do is just watch this space.

on my laptop i have vista and on my pc i have put xp on it as its a pain in the ass, permission to install new programs all the time ect, if i were you stick with xp

most people prefer using Xp professional over Vista.
just because its sucks up a lot of ram,and is really slugish.
However if your going to go for Vista, try going For Ultimate.

I don't have any intention to upgrade to Windows Vista for a while... and I'm sure most organizations won't either :).

Exactly. I was borrowing a lap top last friday, who was running Vista, since mine was in the intensive care unit. :) And all I wanted to do was this...:smash: I don't like it, no way, no how.

Hello,

I don't use Windows Vista (thank god). I'm holding onto my XP Professional until its no longer recognized, unless something better comes along.

I've thought about using Vista, but I'm not entirely sure. I've heard that it randomly freezes and has other bugs/glitches. But I'll probably try it in the future.

Vista don't have that many glitch, its all depending on your system build. Vista is running great and so far no crashes after I upgraded my system.

Cant wait for Windows 7 to come out.

I used to use Vista but when Windows7 was released, I shifted to Windows7 right away just out of mere curiousity. And up to this day, I never regretted that decision! Lol.

I actually have Vista on one of my home computers and love it. :D

I probably have to agree with you. My laptop of 1 year runs Vista and overall, I have been VERY satisfied with it. I like its organization abilities, it is a lot more user friendly and I just like browsing it - its beautiful.

However, I heard that some applications have problems running on Vista and I did experience it for myself once. It was rather annoying.

On a couple of occasions I played around with Windows 7 in store and on HTPC at home. I have to say it feels more lightweight and even more user-friendly. I loved the little things you can do (move two screens to the right left to compare), shake a Window and lose all but active screen, preview panel, pin programs to taskbar, etc. It also apparently very stable, or so I hear. I don't actually have a long enough experience to attest to it.

Windows 7 actually makes me want to get myself a desktop PC with a large 25-27" monitor so that I can work almost in two windows simultaneously (having the "compare docs" kind of setup).

I'll up that to two or three 25'-27" monitors - I think that's all I could fit on my desk. :D

I have a couple friends, and family members that use windows vista, They tell me it sucks, Sometimes when I go over someones house and uses the computer most of the time they have vista, I personaly do like the look, I havn't seen anything that I don't like about it but Also thats because I just go on the web I don't go snoozing around looking at ther settings etc, But the OS is pretty nice, I never used windows 7 but have seen it with my own eye it looks pretty nice, I'd def. Use it. As for windows xp it was the first os I ever used its really nice too but a bit too plain, And for Mac OS X its great but not too great because you cant really run that many programs that a windows computer can run for example you can play sertant games and etc because most people use windows and developers used windows so they make there programs work for windows only and don't know how to code it into a mac...

I like Mac - actually went through factory training to learn to repair the earlier versions. Never bought one though because of the cost and because they never seemed to have nearly as many programs available.

I am not using vista. In my laptop it was already available but it not work. Now i am use a Windows 7.
I am fan of windows7.
