if you work it out on a monthly basis then its $9.99 a month just for the support and update after the first 12 months. compared to $15.95 for a branded monthly licence and $18.95 for unbranded.

You're forgetting the owned license price as-well.

So you pay $324.95 for a year including the product itself for unbranded:

Branded:
First year: $249.95 / 12 = $20.82 a month
Next years: $99.95 / 12 = $8.32 a month

Unbranded:
First year: $324.95 / 12 = $27.07 a month
Next years: $99.95 / 12 = $8.32 a month
