WHMAutoPilot or ModernBill

Out of the two, I'd go with ModernBill.

We had just purchased an owned license of whmAutoPilot, and it is insecure.

They basically wanted us to open port 25 (smtp) for any script on the server, that wanted to use it. This of course is a spammers dream. They refused to help with the problem, insisting that we should basically sacrifice the server it was installed on to spammers, just to run their software. Not only did they want us to do so, but also suggested that opening SMTP to any software on the local machine is perfectly secure. When I showed them the error in their ways, they went silent, and stopped responding.

We became irritated to the point where we just built our own billing/account management software.

In any case, in light of the above, I would suggest ModernBill.
thanks for the info, i could never get WHMAP to work i always got stupid errors about how the database info was incorrect when it really infact was correct.

I hate Modernbill, but WHMAutoPilot just sucks. The only good thing about WHMAutoPilot is it has a simple UI. However ClientExec has not only a simple UI, but good working features. Go ClientExec! In your case, go with modernbill since ClientExec is no longer meeting your needs. In our case, modernbill is just bloatware.

My vote would have to go for WHMAP. I have tried both and I found ModernBill to be too much for what I needed. If you have very large business, and need to keep track of EVERY aspect of EVERY detail of EVERYTHING, then go for Modernbill, but give yourself a couple of weeks to get it setup!
WHMAP still has alot of the same great features that ModernBill does, but doesnt require all the setup and configuring that ModernBill does. I spent about a week working on it and finally gave up.
I use ClientExec now, and since the release of version 2.7.1 they added the ability to create accounts automaticly via cron job. Thats all I really needed WHMAP for, that just saves me one less thing to deal with!

My vote goes to modernbill it is user friendly and has more features making it more functional and their support is also good.

tdothost, what features in Modernbill are you utilizing that are not available on whmap?
The Pro-Rating Billing feature in Modern bill is Not available in WHMAP and Modernbill works with MYSQL 5 + and WHMAP doesn't. Those were the Two Things that made me switch from autopilot to modernbill but now I use WHMCS :mic:
