Where do you get free photos/picture?

I always use google images

That is one dangerous tactic, as definite majority of all images that Google Images search serves are protected by a copyright. If you use these for your own content, you will sooner or later run into a legal issue.

Exactly

My m8 had a website designed for him and everything was fine then 3 years down the line he got a letter from an attorney in Canada demanding he take down an image on his website or pay $10,000 CAD.
It seems the guy who created his website had just picked an image from google images and used it without permission.

Google images picks up all the images from a website and makes them searchable. However if you go to the image tools you can select the license options and select "Labled for reuse". I make no guarantee that is accurate. One of the reasons we pay for some stock photo sites as well and use unplash and pixabay.

not accurate as when you do some searches it will state some Microsoft and Disney logos are free to refuse, but these are the worse when it comes to pursuing you for copyright breaches

Good to know. Thanks for the info. When we build sites we stay away from google images anyways and use our paid stock photo sites.

The list of websites that you can use to find free quality images for your posts:

stocksnap .io
pixabay .com
unsplash .com
deathbystockphotos
123rf .com
canstockphoto .com
piccsy .com

Good luck to you!

I'd recommend the following websites;

https://www.pexels.com/
https://stocksnap.io
https://pixabay.com/
https://unsplash.com/
https://burst.shopify.com

Make sure you check the license before using the image on your website though, as some may not allow commercial use.

I'd personally recommend using a paid stock image website such as Shutterstock as it means you won't have any legal issues down the line, if you accidentally misuse an image.

As mentioned: https://unsplash.com/ is one of the largest collections of images that are "public domain" anyone who uploads to unsplash agree's to releasing their work, in turn for exposure. Also, a nice feature of Unsplash is an easy link to give credit back to the photographer. vs google images which are a collection of images just found on the web which may result in copyright concerns as mentioned as well.
