What's wrong with Cpanel?

Indeed, you can't compare Webmin with cPanel. There are alot of differences. Also in my oppinion cPanel is the strongest software available right now.

well we use cPanel on our shared hosting servers right now, but we have installed ISPCP Omega for several customers on their dedicated server, we also offer it along with other images on our VPS. It all really depends on what a customer likes. Some of the free CP are as good as cPanel some are not so good always is in the eye of the beholder.

If you want a free control panel and still get some sort of cPanel comfort you can try ISP CP Omega. It is missing some of the cPanel functionality but is open source, so it gets developed pretty well with a very strong security at the back end.

cPanel is great, except it's a bit of a resource-hog compared to other panels like DA. But it's the industry standard and will probably continue to remain that way for many years to come.

I don't think that cPanel is a good price for value! DirectAdmin is cheaper and very user-friendly. We were trying to make a deal with cPanel to get a discount on bulk purchases but their initial conditions are terrible for budget hosting providers. Therefore, many budget hosting providers do not offer it at all.

I think,, as mellow-h said, and a few others.. its a preference issue.

Each panel has about the same features, some a little more than others, but all of them have distinct charactaristics. I've never used DA, or Plesk, although I have some dedicated clients who wanted Plesk, more power to them, and I have some clients who wanted WebMin/VirtualMin. Why? Price? Features? Stability? Nobody knows for sure except the client.

In my opinion cPanel is well worth the $30 per month price tag.

The ease of use and reduced amount of support tickets makes it worth while. It is a great piece of software.

If this was the case no host would provide it... the reason it dominates the market is because its GUI is fantastic its nearly flawless.

There was just a CPanel conference. I believe that it was in Texas. They are about to put out some fixes that I think a lot of people are really going to like. I know I am looking forward to it myself.

Can you elaborate on the fixes that are being released, or more importantly the changes that are being implemented that you are looking forward to?

cPanel like many others have different problems and good things to them.

A) requires a huge system update.

b)Design lacking.

But what makes cPanel very good is how easy it is to install and setup fully. cPanel easy WHM interface makes it easy for anyone to use and they have a script for everything. I have not tested all CP out there but cPanel has proven them selfs to be a quality control panel that anyone can use.

Although I am using Cpanel, but I think it would be better if customer have two choices or more .
Customer could make decision as they like.
