What is the best hard drive?

I can only seem to find anecdotal evidence about how good each hard drive brand is. I usually pick drives that based on which model line they are from each manufacturer. Depending upon the server, I usually pick the higher-end workstation drive, or the enterprise grade drive.

Also, raid raid raid raid. It is so much less of a problem to have a drive failure if it's just a matter of replacing and rebuilding.

I have a old 4GB Fujitsu that still works as well, its been through alot of use, I actually still use it

Here's a blast from the past, remember when 3.2gigs was the big thing. I have a fujitsu 3.2 gigs from '97 that is still ticking, and for me it is the best hard drive

One of these days you will be able to custom build your own hard drives. That would be fun and I think we are moving towards that direction!
