Unlimited Bandwidth in Web Hosting

"Unlimited" hosting is just a scam, many of my friends have "Unlimited" Reseller hosting, they think it's great, appart for the 99% downtime, the fact they get hardly any support...

I really do wish people would just come to their senses and think that a hosting provider won't keep buying hard drives just to keep their hosting unlimited, it's a scam, just another way to get a few more ?'s (or $'s :D)

The problem is people think just because theres more they need it. Simple as that. When someone compares two plans for the same price they alot of times go for the one with more resources. But then 75% of customers will never use more then a third of their resources.

Although to those who worry about losing customers to the extreme budget hosts, don't worry. I recently raised my prices considerably. New clients have been further apart. But I make more per client, and on top of this they are easy to support. Generally speaking its the people you give 100GB bandwidth for $14 that demand the most from you as far as support, and from my experience they are the quickest to complain.

If ever there was an example for why forums should have the ability to make snippets of posts sticky :) Great statement, there.

great post mike.. you are absolutely right... these sort of customers are sometimes the most difficult to handle and the first to complain in case something breaks...

I dont have unlimited... I have unmetered which is ligit, it means we dont watch, just if things get crazy, my server lets me know.

FYI, kylespringer, your site is taking an "unmetered" amount of time to load before timing out.

Unmetered is technically correct terminology and legit as you say, but if I were sharing space with someone else I'd rather we were all metered.

Yea, my site is timing our right now, because were moving everything to new servers, it's a nightmare right now, but it will all be up before the end of the day.

Maybe not all true, I have unlimted but no one uses that much anyway so there isn't much to worry about.

I ran a check on your domain name..

Record created on 2005-04-25

Were you something else before hand or have you been going approx 2 weeks?

Rob

and has anybody from Dell been knocking on your door? Not only do you have their company name in yours, your home page has some styling taken from their site (not to mention the low-res logo rip). Good luck! If they do find your site, I'm pretty sure they have better lawyers lol

Yes, I'm going to change the logo, I've had some friends tell me this. You guys are not friendly, please remove my acocunt, I try to be nice.

And go ahead and delete all my posts if you guys think im not honest. I dont want to be pointing people to a dishonest host.

It isn't about being nice, this is a cut throat business, take it or leave it you will get this EVERY WHERE. When you are ripping images from sites that you do not own, that is called Stealing. Would you like it if you put a lot of work into your site and someone just Ripped it? No I dont think you would.

Are you saying you are a dishonest host?

Regards

As you can see, I removed the logo. Please also remove my aaccount, I've requested this many times, looks like im not welcomed.

Everybody is welcome here. However:

You sign on and post advertising without much (if any) real posts to contribute to the community. So it appears to some that you are here only for personal gain. A "leech" perhaps. We don't know, but that's the first warning sign to many. Fair enough, I say.

Second, you now claim your site a work in progress. Why the advertising then? Try to be ready and people might cut you more slack for at least trying to be prepared to back up your claims/services.

Speaking of backing up claims, maybe I missed it but you don't have any rebuttal for people stating that you don't appear to be honest about the amount of time you've been in business, your incorporation, etc. Forgive me if you have and please point me to those posts.

Honest hosts, of which there are a lot here, usually take a bit of offense when people appear to be less than 100% upfront. Again, fair enough, I say.

Please accept my apologies for making you feel unwelcome if I have (can't speak for others, and never will) and I actually respect people who can handle the questions they are asked with dignity and respect and (most important) valid answers to set the record straight. I welcome your remarks with respect to your duration of time you've been in business, your incorporation, etc.

I Don't know if it's been mentioned yet or not, but even your domain name might be a copywrite issue. Of course you probably had your lawyer check into this before registering the domain name right?

tell you what when you come into mcdonalds theyll give you a deal where you can supersize it and get a lot more salty fries for pennies which means to you more clogged arteries for less ;)
