I'd like to make a list of all the useful services and tools (free or paid) that you use in your daily life that pertain to web hosting business, besides control panels and billing software. I am talking about all those little handy tools that make your life easier.

For this purpose, I'd love to ask all of you to chime in with a list (if there is one) of tools/services that you find indispensable. Anything from whois checks and IP address locators, to documents/notes/HR apps and billing software addons, from network monitoring services to domain tools, from design instruments and marketing tools, to marketplaces.

You are welcome to leave links to those tools.

ChatGPT - solution to answer in different languages to your clients
WHMCS - billing and ticket system to support your customer
Amuse 3.1 - Generate logo and photo for your blog or video

A few that you might consider
  • UptimeRobot or Better Stack for external uptime monitoring.
  • MTR and Looking Glass servers when troubleshooting routing or latency complaints.
  • MXToolbox for DNS, mail, SPF, DKIM, and blacklist checks.
  • VirusTotal when investigating suspicious files or URLs reported by customers.
  • Cloudflare Radar and RIPEstat for network and ASN information.
  • crt.sh to verify SSL certificate issuance and troubleshoot certificate-related issues.
  • Shodan (carefully) for checking exposed services and verifying what's publicly visible.
  • GitHub Gists or repositories for storing scripts, automation, and configuration snippets.
  • A solid password manager such as Bitwarden for shared credentials and secure notes.
I find myself using MXToolbox quite often.
