Service really but price is a factor to consider, I will not pay ridiculous prices.

no matter how you look at it some people will prefer service over price and some price over service

but i dont think people will look t then as 50/50 and your second part

Its "fascinating" to note that some of the hosts point out that low pricing is bad. There doesn't seem to be anything against high pricing.

The idea that low prices can be a reflection of fairness and competition, and high prices a reflection of a host's greed seems to be lost here

If you ask me the poll results is just a self-justificion for overcharging

Our high priced plans offer things like pre configured website templates, billing software etc, which all costs time and money, which we dont provide with lower priced plans unless they are purchased as addons. so not all hosats that charge high prices are greedy, you have to look at what extra you get with the higher plan that the lower plan.

I think price and services both must be good.

You need to find a service with affordable price and according to your needs.

+ 1 to this, both of these factors are equally important while selecting a web host.

But still I would like to mention following two points.

• If the website is business oriented then the importance shifts to the quality service and uptime guarantee.
  
• If the website is with no commercial interest or for learning purpose only then one should not invest too much for hosting it.

I never said that. I said that that it is one cause of high prices that is being ignored in the poll results. Of course if you offer other chargeable services on top of the lowest hosing plan your prices will be higher. I am comparing like to like.
