payment method

Credit Card is the best around the world. Paypal having the user geolocation restriction, some countries do not allow Paypal payment.

Well, it depends! Actually I think there are multiple "best" in a specific context!

For example, if you sell a tangible good face-to-face, then the best payment method would be cash.

Analogously if you have a little business online, you may consider PayPal as being the best as there are very low feed!

On the other hand, is you sell cars you may consider Wire Transfer as the best payment method and not PayPal or Bitcoins!

Assuming that you refer to online hosting industry I think the PayPal would be a good choice as you can use major credit cards to pay too. But it is not a nailed option! If you have clients which pay monthly let's say $1000 you may want to consider adding Wire Transfer as payment method accepted!

And finally it depends by payers targeted! Are they around the world? Then CreditCard would be reliable! Are they from a specific country? Phone credit would be a good solution for low payments!

The answer is too relative without a context!

I agree i get my clients who pay over ÂŁ20 a month to use Bank Transfer or Direct Debit.

As bank transfers only cost me 22p per transaction compared to Paypal at 3.4% plus 20p per transaction. and Direct Debits only cost me 1% to a Max. ÂŁ2 GBP per transaction compared to Paypal at 3.4% plus 20p per transaction.

I have a client that was costing me in PP fees ÂŁ7 a month, i got him to change to paying by Direct Debit and now it only costs ÂŁ2.

PayPal is always recommended. After that, I suggest 2checkout.

would never suggest anyone use 2checkout as if you don't use them in a 4 month period they will downgrade your account to a buy only account, so you can use 2co to purchase goods/services, but could not use the account to take payments, so in otherwords, they are forcing you to get your clients to use them.

you need security system like maxmind to stop fraudsters before they can pay invoices with stolen cards etc.

We do use MaxMind but we don't want MaxMind to block any legit users as sometimes it happens even for a legit user it blocks them, so we have enabled maxmind but we have set the limit to 99% so that most orders go through and then we manually review them and refund them if we find it fraudulent.

But I really cannot block any legit users because by the time we contact client and explain them why they got blocked they would have probably ordered services with some other company.

Moreover we even accept some other modes of payment like:

1) BitCoin
2) Perfect Money
3) Webmoney

There is no chargebacks in these modes of payment, so why should one let MaxMind block them just because they are on some VPN or proxy.

We ourselves even provide VPN Tunnel service so we cannot say a user to not sign up with us just because they are using VPN service.

We are using Stripe as well as Paypal for over an year and we did not had a single dispute or chargeback

Most of our customers prefer paypal, and the rest is credit card.

I believe paypal is more popular because of the convenients of checking out quickly.

Uh..this thread is discussion of payment method for web hosts. Not Ebay. Big difference.

yes, but if it was not for ebay then Paypal would not be as popular as it is and hardly used.
People use paypal to pay for web hosting as they have paypal accounts which they set up due to ebay

Any of the popular payment methods would not have been popular if not for something else happening and benefiting their growth.

yes, but as Paypal was, has and still is the only payment method allowed by ebay, then without ebay it would never be popular
