Operating System for Cloud VPS.

It depends what you will use it for and from the specs.

You could use one of them with no issue according to your needs.

linux seems the best option because it is open source and you would have more customers asking for linux than windows. so if am to talk about the one that will move market more, then linux is better.

In addition Linux systems might have features windows does not provide since it was late on the market.

Personaly i would go with windows for a VPS and Linux for Cloud platform.

Which Operating System is used most for cloud VPS?
Linux or Windows? Which is best?

Both windows and Linux are good so since you want us to advise what is better how about you tell us the intended use so that we know which best handles such application. However if you mean most common then that will be Linux.

I would say the same as most here Linux is proberly the best option unless you have applications that has to have windows.

I would say Linux is the most used. Whether it is the best would depend on your use case.

If you're using .Net Windows would be your best option and for pretty much everything else Linux/Unix is your best option.

I would say before you decide based on the fee for windows look at the desired use for your box and the ease with which you find either windows or linux

Obviously there are more linux servers than windows but does it make linux better? In my opinion, no. It is only better if it works better for you.

When you choose which OS to install on your VPS/cloud you should list your requirement and budget and start from there.

I would say it actually depends on your requirements.Linux is widely used and easier than windows but ofcourse if you would like to run windows apps on your site then you have to choose windows for it.:)

Windows can be controlled mostly through graphical interface, which is not very comfortable if you have a bunch of servers.

And one "+" for Linux - it's opensource platform, so you can adjust everything for your needs. It's better not to have your hands tight, am I right?
