Livezilla gone from Freeware to 1000 euros

Time to dust off my Kayako license and get that back up and running - own that one too for many many years!

Sad to see LiveZilla take such a big jump in price - half of it and I'd be more than happy to pay, but I'm not going to kick out the 899 Euros for the unlimited operator license and still have to kick out more money for the reports, stats etc etc.

Back to Kayako for me.

true when you look at Kayako engage it works out just under $300 USD a year compared to Livezillas now 1500USD a year

Livezilla seems to have made an absurd move. Some are willing to consider the fee but most are looking into other services and I can only imagine that a mass exodus will occur.

They should have stuck with FREE (or low priced) and splattered Advertisements all over the place - even that's bareable (as it's free or cheap) but there's just no point when they want to charge the fees they're looking for.

well i would of happily stated with version 3 which they say will remain free, but when i had a small problem and theior response was

"you've been told before we don't offer v3 support if you want support upgrade to v4, don't ask again"

so basically this made me decide they can stick it if thats their attitude so i went with the whmcs live chat

Is that an actual, exact quote? If so, then they've got bigger problems than the pricing.

You can get away with quite obscene pricing if you act courteously, respond fast to inquiries, outdo just about every competitor when it comes to professionalism etc.

Just a quick name that comes to mind would be Rackspace with their brand built around their "Fanatical Support" trademark.

this was an exact quote from them, i felt like repling to that with what i thought of them, but did not want to bring myself down to their level.

OUCH - if that's the custom service level, they have very big issues to worry about. Maybe they need the 1,000 to hire someone that is polite and understands that it's THEM (the company) that needs us (the client) and not the other way around.

i think they have got too big for their boots and decided that they will overcharge for their services and not care about their customers as its those using the free (so far) version 3 that will decide if they upgrade to the paid OTT version 4 and not them telling customers they must upgrade.
but they lost 1 loyal customer who was even considering offering their services to his own clients. but they can go take a run off the nearest pier and i wont jump in to save them

Wow! Was there any justification in the jump?

Is there anything majorly significant in v4 from v3 that would justify the exorbitant jump in price?

Paves the way for a new entrant in the market to step up!

In fact their are less features in V4 than you get in V3 as in V4 all the extras features that are in version 3 are chargeable extras

Yes, we have a .ru domaing for the customers from our country, and a .net domain for the world as well. So there're no purposes to hide)

I also truly apologise for this some kind of a self-promo and ask a moderator to delete or edit the related posts as i cannot do this for an unknown reason

i get a load of spam originating from .ru and even various attempts to access my servers from .ru, so i am wary of beiong associated with .ru compnaies.

you have only a limited time to edit any posts

Yes, i know about the problem. I'm afraid that we'll have to make an independent domain at .com , though it will be costly. Do you have such troubles with e.g. .cn or .in or is ru. the only attacker?

cn and ru are the main problem across the whole internet.

.com are not that expensive. you can pick this up from $8 usd a year

we'd better start with .com at the beginning, but this name (redhelper) is owned by somebody else, so we need to buy it from this person.

so you are using a site and name that you dont even own, well this makes me and others more suspicious of your activities.

it really looks strange to me because some people often buy different domain names to resell it later:)

The full story looks like this: we started in our own country and succeded with .ru domain. Then we decided to go worldwide (there were no such plans before) and bought the .net domain, because .com was already busy.

but i'd like to thank you for the discussion, as it allows me to learn the challenges we are likely to face, intercultural misunderstanding etc.

However, i believe we can overcome these difficulties and offer a reliable and powerful service.

.com is not an active site and seems to be just owned by a domain seller

but when you stated

but this name (redhelper) is owned by somebody else

this assumes that the business name redhelper is not owned by you.
