What useful tips would you provide from your own experience? What major factors should be usually taken into consideration when selecting a hosting account? Thanks in advance!

Read the feedbacks about the hosting company you are going to sign up with, compare their prices with the other companies, read their jegal documents very attentively.

Check for the experience and specialization of the hosting company. Read through the average uptime of their hosting servers. Compare the hosting rates, but not comprimising the reliability of the hosting service

I go by the company's overall reputation, mostly as portrayed by actual cutomer reviews, posted on forums.

Of course, the features and the price will play a role too. It's to be expected. After years of time spent on forums, I suppose there's also a personal connection that I might feel towards some individuals, that will make me trust them and their business.

web

Read through the average up time of their hosting servers. We can learn from the rules, regulations and conditions of particular hosting.

Google them, Read reviews about the company, Look at their pricing, Look at how long they have been up, and just look at the overall reputation they have.

just see if their packages and prices seem fair and if you want, contact them and ask qeustions, see how they respond, that'll show you how good they are when it comes to customer support and then decide if they are good for you

also take DAILY backups just in case, and when you feel secure enough and find the web host to be "good" or even "great" then slow down on backups like once a week or so

i do that lol :D works

Yuo see if a hosting company offers unlimited disk space or for example 300MB on shared servers I suggest they decieve customers at beginning stages! There is no need even to talk with such companies!

I think that it won't help you to read the topics about the company you choose. Because there are always a lot of satisfied and not satisfied clients. I think that it's better to check it by yourself.
All company's have 30 days back money guarantee. So you need just to choose the company which price and package is best for you. And then try to use their services.
BUT please note that if you buy a package with a free domain name, and then cancel your services in 30 days, then you will pay for this domain name:)

:D

That depends on the customer and that is the risk web hosting provider have, because if domain name belong to the customer he might refuse pay for the domain name

Sorry, but I think you are wrong.:agree:

You buy a hosting+free domain name. It would be yours only if you hosted it with the company who register it for you, at least 30 days (in some company's up to one year).
There are no company which will change the DNs or give you the authorization Key for transfer in the first 30 days of your hosting.

How good the hosting company is depend on yourself..
You have try out then you will know it..

For my exprience tell, you can sign up the package that the company you think that is good (in term of service and price, not the brand of company). Sign the package and try the service and stability of the hosting server. If you feel that the service can fullfill your needed, then just cancel the package in a month due to normally the hosting company will have a month money back guarantee.

You might want to also note that not everything friends tell you will apply to what you need your hosting company for. Sometimes people will say "such and such is cheap" thats great that its cheap, but does it do what you need? :) Keep that in mind too.

When looking for a new web host I highly recommend having a more in depth look into a company that appeals to you. This should help give you some insight into what you're going to expect.
