How does a shared plan host multiple domains?

The use of addon domains is coming to an end in my opinion as time goes on more are asking for whm and unlimited domains than addon domains. But the offering of addons is ok as long as the hosts provide offsite backups to the client giving that extra added security and peace of mind.

I would really love to see cPanel make addon domains more separate from their primary domain name (separate file manager etc). I think cPanel is moving in the right direction with the user management features but not quite there yet and probably won't be for a long time (assuming something like this ever gets implemented).

But at least for now there are a few options, separate shared accounts, addon domains or a WHM reseller. I find most people use the addon domains or create separate shared accounts -- not sure if this is due to the cost factor or the knowledge that reseller isn't just for reseller.

I see more users requesting whm reseller accounts

In my opinion the addon domains is coming to an end as i see more clients asking for whm reseller accounts to keep the domains seperate in a way.

Very rarely do many of them use add on domains.

You will get just one cpanel account for the main domain. After you can add from your cpanel more addon domains. The cpanel account will have acces for all your domains, but you can create FTP users with acces for just one domain.

Only if your hosting plan allows addon domains. If addon domains is not allowed on your hosting plan, then you will not be able to add any other domains

I'm agree with the previous replies. :) If you'll add the domains as addon domain then you can host multiple sites under one shared hosting service.

If you wish to have separate cPanel access then go with reseller service. That's best option!

Now regrading resources, CPU usage, Bandwidth, every recourse will be shared in shared hosting service which will cause the speed of websites.

While in reseller service, you'll not face this issue. You can allocate the resources as per your requirements of your website. You can create the packages according to need and assign them. :)
