Respected members of HostingDiscussion.com,

We have a prime perk for you :agree:. And it goes by the name:

HD Backs You Up!

Continuing our way to celebrate the best knowledge of the web hosting industry, HostingDiscussion.com presents the "HD Backs You Up!" contest to award the individuals who showcase the best understanding of the industry they are in.

In the next 10 weeks the staff of HostingDiscussion will give out 5 (five) Lexar 32MB flash memory sticks to 5 (five) members who show their best professional skills through knowledgeable and high quality posts at the selected forums (details below).

CONTEST RULES:

Contest officially starts on June 1, 2004. The contest is set to finish on August 15, 2004 * Contest closing date may be corrected.

Make at least 25 high quality posts during any of the 2-week periods in the following forum categories: Web Hosting Forums, Operating a Web Hosting Business. You will be automatically included as one of the finalists for the prize. HD staff will then select which member drove the maximum value to HD through the knowledgeable posts he or she made and announce the winner for each period.

Periods (2004):
June 1 - June 14 - W: HostKookster
June 15 - June 30 - W: ldcdc
*revised: July 15 - July 30 - W: Xcel_Hosting
*revised: September 15 - September 30 - W: nocturnalhostin
*revised: December 1 - December 15 - W: Equinox

ALL 5 WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED.
CONTEST IS CLOSED.

IMPORTANT: It is crucial to understand that this contest is NOT about who posts more, but about the quality of advice and knowledge shared within HD forums. If you make 100 information-empty posts and the next member makes 25 posts that really stand out, it is that member who will be considered as the finalist for a prize. We have never had a problem with the flood of posts before, but if we think that a user massively posts without much sense and without stopping, the user will be disqualified and banned. :banned: Quality, quality and quality is what we will look at first.

Each member can only win once.

Prize is non-exchangeable to any other product/service/money, but transferable to another registered HD member with at least 25 posts.

HD Staff decisions are final.

Contest rules are subject to change without prior notice.

ELIGIBILITY:

- You have to be a registered member.
- The winner should expect to send HostingDiscussion.com his contact information and postal address.
- Any geographical location with a postal mailing address is eligible.
- HD staff is not eligible for the contest.

Please post below with any questions you might have or PM me directly. We would rather see you ask a question publicly so others can benefit from it as well.

Good luck,
HD Staff.

I think this belongs in the topic of creativity as a prime example!!!!!
Thank you! However, HD is just a platform for hosts to interact with potential customers and each other. We provide no hosting service ourselves, which would eliminate the need to be creative that way.

Best,

UPDATE: We have received Lexar Memory Sticks about 5 minutes ago. They are so damn cute and small! 🙂

Best,

I know, I was referring to creativity in general. Its a great idea of a way to encourage the industry to put out its best information of how to succeed.

It is June 1 - the contest is officially open!

We hope YOU will be the one receiving the 32 MB Lexar Memory Stick in the mail. Make sure to follow the contest rules and good luck.

hysetriaweb, I believe you can name it that. We had a loyalty program running that rewarded individuals who contributed through the reward store and variety of free products and services offered. We will bring it back soon. The new reward system hack is just too complex to work with.

:thankyou:

I'm touched 😉

(acceptance speech)
I didn't really have one prepared...

I'd like to thank all those hosting novices for giving me the opportunity to share my experiences - to the HD staff and Artashes, for offering the prize....(sniff) YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!

*cue orchestra music*

In all honesty - i'm honoured. Thanks 🙂

I was notified that I have missed a period! I can't believe this, but I really did forget to announce the winner for the second period June 14 - June 30: ldcdc.

His participation on this forum was noticed right from the very beginning. So not a surprise he was invited to join the HD staff as a moderator later on in July.

Congratulations, Dan & keep up the excellent work.

Sorry everybody, that was not intentional.

HD Team

Thank you Artashes! You (and the other guys) managed to keep this a secret from me. You're so sneaky. I'm joking of course. 🙂

Thank you artvision!

Romanian words... That's so sweet! 🙂

I'll be a bit pedant and note that actually "Good work!" would be "Bună muncă!" as "work" is a feminine substantive. 🙂

(Romanian grammar is a bit more complicated than English grammar - or so they say.)

"Felicitări!" means "Congratulations!". That is correct. 🙂

Ah ... Excuse me, Dan!

I knew that it's a big risk to use unfamiliar words! :crash:

In June I was in Bucharest for 1 day and have learned
some words (that's I thought 🙂 ). Now I understand
that I don't know anything! :ziplip:

Once again - excuse me!!!

Sorry about off topic!

Your mistake wasn't that big. What you wrote still makes sense, it's just not entirely correct. 🙂

It was also a very nice gesture to write those familiar words for me, or at least that's how I consider it. 🙂

I wonder what words. 😉
