Not much online gaming, but used to be hooked on simulators:

Microsoft Flight Simulator
Euro Truck Simulator
Radar Chaos (Air Traffic Control), but ATC SIM is more sick, and it's web-based

I also loved Microsoft Flight Simulator, but found myself flying helicopters in Apache 64 quite often.

Destiny 2 is excellent. Huge worlds & you can get started for free. There are in-game purchases you can make, but if you play a lot you can collect upgrades without having to fork out cash
