Do you guys trust Free Hosts?

Free hosts can oftentimes get your domain blacklisted because of their likelihood of being spam hosts. Recovering from this can be very difficult and can lead to a diminished reputation on the web.
 
I do agree that one shouldn't have a free host taking care of a website where you are running a business. I've had good experiences, but the limits on free hosts make it impossible to keep a business running in the first place. For personal sites or hobby sites free hosts would probably be the best, as long as you keep a backup of your website with you just in case.
 
i have a do/don't trust on free hosting....

dedicated servers cost money as does bandwidth and disk space.

free host's have to pay for those cost's and try and make some money (to make it worth their while)

so they usually have ad's (google ad's to make an income)

some aren't very stable and few last longer than a few months

I will never recommend going with free web hosting service provider for business or E Commerce websites. However if you do have any personal website you may prefer to go with free web hosting service provider.

Reason being behind that is free web hosting providers sometime may not offer you daily quality web hosting support service which is in need in daily help if required by the user.
 
True..!!! Free host is not liable as nothing in the world is free...!! :smash:

So Always go for the paid one atlest you have some guarantee for the host. Recently heard of a company a collaboration of Hostgator India (Hostgator.in) and Google INDIA GET ONLINE (indiagetonline.in) This people are giving out free .in domains and web hosting for one year which is integrated with base kit so any layman can design his website and start or promote there business. They are going good with the project but if need a full cntrol cPanel would have to opt for paid plans.. :)
 
If you have a free host do NOT expect any quality at all. I once tried a free host and it was a pain in you know what. The uptime was around 50% and they did not respond to my emails. Maybe it is just me having a bad experience. My best advise is STAY AWAY!
 
I only have one thing to say.. No. There are a few free webhosts that are doing it right, but generally I do not trust those companys. I just think people should find a cheaper webhost then($2-4). I am sure they will be much more satisfied.
 
Free hosts are good and can be used if you are hosting a hobby site or a album website etc.. it is not good to relay on free hosting for your business websites
