Cpanel Vs Direct Admin Vs Plesk

All depends. If you plan to use that control panel only for few own sites, then DirectAdmin can do the job. (Price is really low).
But, if you plan to run Shared Web Hosting Business, or something like that, then cPanel is the best solution.

Yeah, I have to agree with Turelio...cPanel is what you want if your running a shared web hosting business. DA is good, but should not be the defualt control panel you use as the majority of the web perfer cPanel (from my past experience).

I'm curious where you believe DirectAdmin falls short for running a shared web hosting business?

DA does not fall short of running a shared web hosting business, but I think you would have an easier time getting clients using cPanel. Not to mention cPanel (in my opinion) is easier to use.

I both agree and disagree with cPanel being easier, this is mainly down to which the user had first. Putting that into context, remember the first operating system you used on a computer.... most probably windows, not much has changed as far back as say 95 (don’t want to go to far back) to vista it still functions and acts the same regardless of the memory intensive GUI now used.

Now if you’d never used or seen a Mac for example, you probably wouldn’t get along with it well, and I can vouch for that as my first Mac was the only piece of hardware I read the Manuel for. As the systems work and interact with the user differently.

Its similar with control panels, the first you gel to and learn is often the one you will feel at home with and use as a comparison to others when choosing a host as you can almost ensure you can get your login details and begin.

I personally started a number of years ago with cPanel and have been a fan since; I have used DA and Plesk although will remain with cPanel due to the ease of use and the fact it’s practically and industry standard meaning people can easily move to and from a host without much difficulty or a need to re-learn how to use their control panel.

cPanel and Plesk are both great control panels, one is for Windows web hosting and the other is for Linux web hosting.

my vote would have to be cpanel,
1.) most people no it and understand it.
2.) if you dont no how to install something,
inside whm (easyapache) will install it for you, most of the time.
3.) i think it looks alot nicer

Very rarely do I have the question of control panel come up in sales opportunities with prospects. The last question I took a few weeks back was about the ControlZX Control Panel.

I would prefer CPanel, its user friendly. I would recommend it for linux user.

Plesk is windows based. Both are good. Depends on what you wanna use.

Thanks,
Steve
