I think that's very unlikely. Almost everyone pays for almost everything online with a credit/debit card, crypto payments are way behind those in terms of number of users/transactions.

exactly, that's why I asked them for evidence to prove this.
I would say its

1) Credit/Debit card
2) Paypal
3) Cash
4) Apple Pay
etc.
Crypto will be well down the list.

I don't see many people (if any) in a supermarket paying by crypto

yes and that all comes from when PP was owned by eBay and it was the only payment option eBay would allow
