Centos or Debian for Server ?

I prefer CentOS, as its a very secure OS

+1 for CentOS - The long release cycles mean having to build some things from source, but it also means stability and familiarity.

centos is more of an enterprise distribution and its has a few advanced network features that debian lacks, maybe not anymore but a few years ago did. as a result a lot of shared webhosting servers deployed CENTOS

+1 for CentOS.

It can be switched to CloudLinux easily.
CloudLinux IS a standalone version of Linux, which can be used with a variety of hosting panels or on its own using command line tools.
Most commonly used with cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk which recommend the use of CloudLinux with their Platform.
