Centos or Debian for Server ?

CentOS.
Because CentOS can be converted to CloudLinux easily.
If CloudLinux were on the list, I'd choose that.

CL is the best OS for hosting, take a look at the features, and you'd know why.

If you are hosting multiple tenants then CloudLinux (compatible with CentOS) is best as you can individually tweak the resources available to each user.

Both Centos and Debian is same for me, the difference is only commands, now it totally depend on your self which commands you like more.

Meanwhile I prefer Centos because many control panel run on well on it.

you are aware

CloudLinux is an add-on for cPanel web hosting services that installs a new kernel that helps system administrators to better manage cPanel web hosting users So it is not a standalone OS.

I like Debian, but I think most of the web hosting world uses CentOS (or RHEL). If you use what most everyone else uses, you can benefit from other people using the same OS. It may be hard to find help for web hosting issues if you use Debian, since most people do not use it.

I'd probably avoid Ubuntu in a server environment, Ubuntu is more of a desktop operating system. I suppose it can be used in a server environment, but you'd probably be just as well off using Debian in that situation. Ubuntu is based on Debian.
