If I was to go to an electronics store to purchase a TV that I saw an ad for that included a free DVD player and found the DVD player wasn't actually free because they raised the price of the TV to compensate for giving away the DVD player, I would more than likely walk out and never return.

I think all businesses need a code of ethics and stand by them. Unfortunately, many don't and only care about $$$.

Do you just give away the FREE domain registration or does an offer have to be purchased? There is no way around it my friend. The cost of the item being purchased such as the TV has to be margined to offset the "SO CALLED" free item such as the DVD player. If you didnt have a substantial mark-up on the item being purchased to justify the free item then you would not be in business long. Face it nobody here is in the business of giving away a FREE anything. We are all here to make money. No money is earned if we truely offer FREE items without sticking it to the customer somewhere else.

Let me add that at Fat Daddy Web Hosting the domains are included they are not free. They are only included on select plans. Yes I have to remain profitable to remain in business.

That's not what I said at all, HostMantis. Not all customers who purchase unlimited plans are naive - I have one with HostGator myself and I certainly don't consider myself naive.

My recommendation was to be an informed customer - I believe that applies to every industry.

We dont offer A FREE MONTH OF HOSTING. This would be a deceptive practice. We do offer a 30 Day money back guarantee. If our customers are not happy they can receive a full refund within 30 days. Our domain registration is not free they are included with our selected plans. Yes the GENERAL PUBLIC would rather do business with a company that understands they have to make a profit to stay in business. With the hosting business, you dont want to register with a company and then they close up shop 6 months later because they did not price their items in a equitable manner.

From the looks of it, fatdaddywebhosting is simply a reseller of Resellerspanel. The "joint network" claim can be found on hundreds of sites, because with Resellerspanel you get a turnkey website to sell from, so the content of the websites of their resellers is often almost identical.

Let me also add that by the search results Liquid Net must own a tremendous percentage of the reseller market. It appears also by the search, that the 51,000 + domains claimed is honest. Perhaps if you are looking for a company to collabarate your business with you may want to consider them.

A site builder is an add-on service some providers choose to offer to their clients. It is not a core product and cannot function without the basic hosting package. So yes, that is a free benefit.

Most companies offer free month of hosting you can receive through their 30-day money back guarantee.

Now I would like to get back to your explanation of unlimited bandwidth.

Are you serious? How can you say it is NOT deceptive? Can you guarantee to deliver 1 TB, 200 TB or 500 TB of bandwidth month-to-month? Can I simultaneously download, for example, an open source Linux OS from your server, burning as much bandwidth as I want, correct? Say, 50 or 100 simultaneous downloads 24/7... Sound good? And if I am not happy with the results, can I get my money back within 30 days?

:disagree: What telling your customers they get a FREE month of service when they pay for 11 months???????? How is something FREE when you have to pay for something else to receive it????? Surely the cost for the 1 FREE MONTH is covered in you profit margins over the following 11 MONTHS? Is this deceptive?

Why dont you really give them 1 FREE MONTH without signing up for the other 11? That would REALLY BE FREE!

Perhaps you could offer 11 FREE MONTHS for the price of 1 MONTH. Perhaps this would yield a profitable and equitable return in your business.
