AwStats settings.

Those who use AwStats for website statistics know that you can click on "Update Now" text link to display the latest statistic information.

How does one actually set the software to allow "Update Now" function link to appear from Cpanel WHM? (If you are on VPS)

Best,

It's this section under tweak settings, no difference with VPS I would imagine.

Stats and Logs
Allow users to update Awstats from cPanel

One thing though, awstats really does seem to use quite a bit of resources more than it seems, especially with this update feature. Can be annoying with clients who are addicted to clicking that update link many many times a day.

Or manually, log in to your account using your FTP client and open the directory 'tmp'. Open the folder contained in this directory called 'awstats'. Find the file 'awstats.yourdomain.com.conf' and download it to your computer. Locate the parameter 'AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=0' and change the 0 to 1. Save the file and upload it back to your 'awstats' directory. :)

if you have ssh access, it will be better cause I see that on certain cases the AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser is reset back to 0 after you have enabled it manually. You might want to chattr the file to prevent any write permission on the file.
