Oracle’s new supply chain agents come with permission limits built in

Oracle has introduced three agentic applications for supply chain teams, and they run on an execution runtime the company calls Fusion Claw. The company announced them in a press release dated Oct. 26, during its Oracle AI World event in Las Vegas.

The framing deserves attention. Oracle describes Fusion Claw as a governed runtime inside Fusion Cloud Applications that handles reasoning, computation, simulation, modeling and continuous replanning. In addition, Oracle says the agents work within an organization’s existing permissions and controls. In other words, they follow the same boundaries that human users follow.

The three applications sit in Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing. First, Supply Planning Allocation weighs production lines, work centers, components and business trade-offs to divide scarce materials and capacity among competing demand. Second, Shipment Load Planning looks for consolidation opportunities across timing, capacity, service commitments and cost, so it can lower transportation spending while meeting service levels. Finally, Procurement Spend reviews spending, supplier agreements and purchasing data to flag maverick spend and contract leakage, estimate savings and suggest corrective steps.

These tasks share a common problem. Planners juggle competing priorities with imperfect data, and manual work often slows them down. Therefore, software that can replan continuously may matter to teams under constant pressure.

S.Y. Shenoy, senior vice president of Applications Development at Oracle, said the applications let supply chain teams move to “governed action” across critical processes.

The applications run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and belong to a wider Fusion AI ecosystem. That ecosystem includes Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, which supports no-code and pro-code development. As a result, organizations can create and manage their own agentic applications from reusable Oracle, partner and external agents. The studio also includes observability, ROI measurement and safety controls.

However, the release leaves out pricing, customer names and performance results. Because of that, nobody can yet say how much these agents change daily planning work. For buyers, the practical question is how closely the permission model matches their own approval chains.
