team.blue deepens AI push with Macaly deal as hosting shifts toward app creation

team.blue has confirmed the acquisition of Macaly, an AI driven web application builder, in a move that signals how quickly the hosting sector is redefining its role. Rather than competing solely on infrastructure, the group continues to add tools that sit closer to how businesses actually build and run digital products.

The announcement first appeared on team.blue’s official LinkedIn channel, where the company said Macaly will remain an independent brand while joining its wider portfolio. Although financial terms were not disclosed, the strategic intent was clear. team.blue wants to shorten the distance between an idea and a working online product for small and medium sized businesses.

Founded in 2023 in the Czech Republic, Macaly focuses on generating full web applications rather than simple brochure websites. Users describe what they need in plain language, and the platform produces a functional application that includes data handling, workflows, and logic. So now, founders and teams can just build their own internal tools or customer apps—no coding, no piecing together a bunch of different services.

You can see this trend all over the European hosting market. In the last year, providers finally figured out that just offering storage and compute isn’t enough anymore. People want everything to work together. They expect hosting, software building, and all their operational tools to be part of the same smooth package. Consequently, acquisitions like Macaly point to a future where hosting platforms act as foundations for business software, not just places to park websites.

Executives from both companies framed the deal in practical terms. Macaly co founder and COO Martin Ďuriš said the acquisition gives the company access to infrastructure and reach that help ideas move into production faster. Meanwhile, team.blue Chief Product Officer Hans Nijholt described Macaly as a natural extension of the AI features already present across the group’s brands, particularly those aimed at simplifying creation for non technical users.

Looking ahead, Macaly will continue operating independently while also serving as the technical basis for a new AI powered no code application builder across selected team.blue brands. Although the rollout timeline remains open, the direction appears set.

This kind of deal shows how hosting providers are changing. It’s not just about raw capacity anymore. They’re trying to help people actually build things. With AI tools getting better fast, it’s clear that building apps right inside your hosting platform is quickly becoming something everyone expects.
