Meta links $800M South Carolina data center to new 100MW solar farm

Meta is anchoring its first South Carolina data center to renewable power through a 100MW solar project in Orangeburg County. Built and operated by Silicon Ranch with Central Electric Power Cooperative, the $100m solar farm will supply energy when both facilities go online in 2027. The AI-optimized data center, spanning 715,000 sq ft, underscores Meta’s strategy of pairing large-scale infrastructure with long-term clean energy commitments.
