37signals nears final exit from AWS, eyes $1.3M in storage savings

37signals is preparing to delete its AWS account this summer as it migrates 18PB of data to Pure Storage hardware. Following a $2M annual savings from compute repatriation, the Basecamp maker now expects to cut $1.3M more by ditching S3. With waived egress fees and lower operating costs, the company aims to run fully on-prem—under $1M a year—without hiring extra staff.
