Alibaba Cloud is actively expanding its SaaS portfolio by introducing products previously limited to China into international markets. The company recently rebranded its Elastic Cloud Phone as Cloud Phone and launched it in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Businesses can now utilize these virtual Android devices, hosted on Alibaba Cloud, for app testing, game streaming, and secure customer interactions. Users access the devices through Windows, macOS, and Android clients, leveraging Arm servers and Shenlong virtualization technology for enhanced performance.

Another key addition is DingTalk Enterprise, a robust collaborative platform similar to Microsoft Teams. Serving more than 25 million business users across 120,000 clients globally, DingTalk now includes generative AI tools that enhance productivity features like messaging, video conferencing, document sharing, and cloud storage.

Recently, Alibaba Cloud promoted the platform’s enterprise-focused version to users in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, providing a tailored solution for seamless business collaboration.

Alibaba Cloud’s decision to bring these SaaS products to global markets reflects its strategy to find growth opportunities amid slower domestic performance. The company reported only 7% year-over-year cloud revenue growth, significantly lagging behind its Western competitors.

Meanwhile, muted activity during China’s Singles’ Day shopping festival highlights challenges in its primary e-commerce market.

By targeting international markets, Alibaba Cloud aims to diversify its client base and increase revenue. However, it faces strong competition from industry giants like AWS, Google, and Microsoft.

As it ventures into these competitive spaces, Alibaba Cloud will need to emphasize innovation and differentiation to secure a foothold globally.
