Google Ordered to open Google Play to competitors

A U.S. judge has ruled that Google must allow rival app stores and third-party billing options on Google Play, giving Android users more choices. Effective November 1, Google can no longer pay developers for app exclusivity or force its billing system. The tech giant plans to appeal, citing concerns about competition with Apple’s iOS.
