STACK Infrastructure inks $3B green financing for sustainable U.S. data center projects

STACK Infrastructure, a global leader in data center development, has secured $3 billion in green financing to support four major U.S. projects. These initiatives, spread across active or emerging campuses, will collectively add 900MW to the nation’s data center capacity.

This latest funding surge follows STACK’s recent $3.3 billion and $1.3 billion financing announcements, highlighting its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and innovative growth. With over $15 billion raised this year, STACK is rapidly expanding its global portfolio of scalable data centers.

Brian Cox, CEO of STACK Americas, emphasized the alignment between the company’s mission and its clients’ sustainability goals. “Our clients prioritize minimizing environmental impacts, which aligns perfectly with our mission to foster a sustainable digital future. This financing exemplifies STACK’s dedication to merging sustainable development with responsible growth.”

The new funds will advance campuses in Prince William County, Virginia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Atlanta, Georgia. These projects aim to significantly reduce environmental impact through advanced measures such as water conservation, efficient resource use, and energy efficiency. Key features include eliminating potable water for cooling, using low-carbon construction materials, and incorporating high-performance design elements to achieve optimal Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).

STACK has established itself as a trusted partner for cloud providers and other innovators committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The company’s culture of responsible growth and cutting-edge design fosters a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

Expanding Global Reach

In addition to the new U.S. projects, STACK’s global portfolio includes several significant initiatives. A 300MW campus in South Dallas, Texas, spans 100 acres and supports both shell and turnkey deployments. In Santa Clara, California, a 48MW data center offers immediately available space with 12MW of turnkey capacity and power from Silicon Valley Power (SVP).

Toronto, Canada, hosts a 56MW campus on 19 acres, featuring an existing 8MW data center and an additional 48MW of expansion capacity. Portland, Oregon, boasts a 200MW campus with 24MW of available capacity on 55 acres with committed power.

Other notable projects include a 48MW build-to-suit opportunity in Dallas/Fort Worth, known for its abundant power and connectivity options, and a 58MW data center campus in New Albany, Ohio, with build-to-suit expansion opportunities. Additionally, a 250MW campus in Central Phoenix, Arizona, is under development with a dedicated on-site substation.

Internationally, STACK is expanding with a 72MW campus in Osaka, Japan, a 48MW data center in Seoul, South Korea, and a 30MW campus in Stockholm, Sweden, with 18MW currently under development.

STACK Infrastructure’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is redefining the data center landscape, solidifying its leadership in the sector.
