DomainIt and Quality Technology Services name new executives

Two major firms have brought in new but well-known faces to their executive boards, shuffling existing positions in an effort to push forward with renewed vigor in their respective marketplaces.

DomainIt, a leading provider of web hosting services and domain names, announced yesterday that it had hired well-known industry executive Victor Pitts as the company’s vice president as it pushes forward with an aggressive campaign aimed at improving their place in the market. Known for his extensive involvement in both the hosting and domain registrar business, Pitts played a major role with Moniker, a division of Oversee.net, in his position as vice president with that company, seeing domain registrations increase from 300,000 to over three million during his time on-board.

“We think there are some significant opportunities being overlooked in the current business climate,. Bringing Victor on board was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. He will be working on some exciting new business ventures, where his leadership experience and industry connections can benefit DomainIt tremendously. We fully expect him to hit the ground running.” – Paul Goldstone, CEO and founder of DomainIt

With DomainIT now planning to push hard in 2010 towards their goal of increasing competitiveness and gaining new customers, Pitts is expected to lead the charge with his experience and expertise stemming not only from his time at Moniker but also that spent with both Nexlook Designs, his former design firm, and Motorola where he served as a national sales executive.

Data center operator Quality Technology Services (QTS) has also announced a major new appointment this week as it saw IT services veteran Tesh Durvasula take over as chief marketing and business officer for the firm. Combined with the naming of William Schafer as the company’s chief financial officer last month, QTS hopes to see real monetary results as Durvasula takes over the role of overseeing all of QTS’ sales and marketing plans and begins to add his voice to executive decisions.

With 17 years of experience in several key executive positions including chief marketing officer for Telx and vice president of AboveNet, Durvasula brings with him extensive knowledge of both the hosting industry at large and the financial aspects of big business in particular, leading to glowing outlooks from both QTS and Durvasula himself as he takes over his new responsibilities.
