Ncell wants Nepali businesses to stop paying foreign hosting bills in dollars

Ncell just launched Business Cloudsuite, targeting a problem plenty of Nepali businesses have quietly dealt with for years: paying international hosting companies in foreign currency just to get a website online.

The platform bundles domain registration and web hosting into one place, built specifically for businesses, startups, and organizations operating within Nepal. That local angle runs through pretty much every part of the offering. Customers pay in Nepali currency, get support from a local team, and can keep their website data hosted inside the country rather than routed through servers somewhere overseas.

That last point actually matters more than it might sound. Data residency isn’t just a technical detail. For organizations dealing with regulatory requirements or simply wanting more control over where their digital assets physically sit, hosting inside Nepal gives them an option that international providers generally can’t offer.

Ncell is rolling out two pricing tiers to start. The Basic Package runs Rs 1,000 a month and covers 3 GB of shared storage, professional email accounts, SSL certification, automated backups, and standard security protection, aimed at individuals and smaller businesses just getting a digital presence off the ground. The Pro Package steps up to Rs 2,000 monthly, adding more storage and data transfer, up to 20 email accounts, 10 databases, and support for as many as five subdomains, built for businesses whose digital needs have already outgrown the basics.

Dion Asencio, Ncell’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, framed the launch around something fairly fundamental: a domain and reliable hosting are the starting point for almost any business trying to establish itself online, and Ncell built the first phase of Cloudsuite specifically around those two needs because they’re usually the first thing a business figures out when it starts going digital.

Beyond hosting and domains, the platform also handles DNS management, domain forwarding, subdomain configuration, and renewal or transfer support, all managed through a single dashboard rather than juggling separate tools for each piece.

For now, Cloudsuite covers the fundamentals of getting a business online. Whether Ncell pushes the platform into more advanced cloud services later remains to be seen.
