Synteq debuts unified cloud platform built entirely in-house

Most cloud providers cobble together their management and billing tools from a patchwork of third-party software. Synteq decided to build its own instead, and this week the company launched Synteq Cloud, a unified platform handling provisioning, management, and billing across its entire product lineup, from GPU compute to its Instant Metal bare-metal offering.

The shift away from third-party tools is really the story here. Instead of adapting Synteq’s infrastructure and workflows to fit general-purpose software built for a wide range of use cases, the company can now build its platform directly around its own products and roadmap, without working around the limitations of tools designed for someone else’s business.

CEO Eric Yingling framed the move around who Synteq actually serves: technical operators doing serious infrastructure work who notice immediately when software wastes their time. Building the platform in-house, he said, gives Synteq full ownership over the experience and lets the company move faster on shipping what customers actually need, rather than waiting on a third-party vendor’s release cycle.

The platform launches with a new high-availability architecture built to stay up through hardware failures and routine maintenance, paired with distributed block storage underneath it. That storage layer includes data replication and automated recovery, and it can attach to any Synteq resource regardless of which product a customer is running. The rollout starts in Dallas, with additional US and European sites expected to follow shortly.

Beyond the infrastructure improvements, Synteq Cloud also consolidates resource and network management into one place. Teams, projects, scoped API keys, ASNs, BGP peers, and prefix lists now sit alongside compute infrastructure in the same platform, rather than scattered across separate tools that customers previously had to juggle on their own.

For a company competing in an increasingly crowded GPU and compute market, betting on a fully custom platform is a real commitment, one that trades the convenience of off-the-shelf software for tighter control over the product experience. Whether that pays off will likely come down to execution over the next few product cycles, particularly as Synteq expands the platform to new regions and puts its high-availability claims to the test under real customer load.
